In Belgium, you have the right to freedom of religion and belief.
Freedom of religion
There is no state religion or official religion in Belgium. You have the right to freedom of religion. You are also free not to be religious.
Always respect the beliefs or convictions of others, even if they do not believe or do not practice their religion.
The law takes precedence over religion
Whatever religion you choose, the law takes precedence over religion. This means that only the law decides what you can and cannot do, and the reasons why you could be punished in Belgium.
To the church or mosque
In every municipality or town there is also a church where you can go to mass. In most cities in Belgium you can go to a mosque for prayer.
