Forced return
If you do not leave on your own accord, the Belgian government can force you to return to your country of origin.
The police will then take you with them and put you on an aeroplane.
What is the procedure for a forced return?
Forced return proceeds in stages, in collaboration with the police.
- You are first given the opportunity to leave on your own accord, you do not resist.
- You refuse to leave: the police will take you to the aeroplane.
- You still refuse to leave: police officers will accompany you on the plane and fly to your destination.
- You still refuse to leave: the police will organise a secure flight to take you back to your country of origin.
