Ending your refugee status yourself

You can voluntarily end your status as a recognised refugee. This may be the case, for example, if you feel that there are no longer any reasons to flee your country.

How to end your refugee status?

You go in person to the documents service of the CGRS (CGRA/CGVS).
You sign a declaration of renunciation.
You receive a 'certificate of termination of status'.
