Your rights and obligations on reception

Reception is the support you receive as an applicant while you wait for the authorities to conclude the examination of your application for international protection. 

It includes the reception rights and obligations that are explained in this brochure.

 This information is for you if:

  • You are an adult (older than 18 years old)
  • You applied for international protection (also called asylum) in Belgium and are now an applicant for international protection. 

There is also a brochure for unaccompanied minors. 

This information is for you if:

  • you are under the age of 18
  • you have arrived without your parents, either alone or with other family members
  • you applied for asylum (also called international protection) in Belgium.
